Biography

Kate Pearce is a Peter O'Donnell Jr Postdoctoral Fellow working with Prof. Gunnar Martinsson's research group in numerical analysis and computational mathematics. She earned her PhD in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University in May 2022, where she was supervised primarily by Prof. Mansoor Haider with additional mentorship from Prof. Ilse Ipsen. Prior to her doctoral work, Kate earned her M.S. in Mathematics at the University of Denver under the direction of Prof. Andrew Linshaw.  In 2020, she was also the recipient of the American Mathematical Society's Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering (CASE) Fellowship and remains dedicated to the advancement of diversity initiatives in the mathematical community.
